We’ll also be shutting down a number of official servers (you can see the full list of affected servers below). We intend to synchronize wipes and server take-downs with updates to keep the impact on our active player-base as little as possible. Please note that we won’t be doing these wipes with every game update, though we do want to ensure there’s an ending and a new beginning every once in a while. To clarify, this wipe is only happening on Official servers, Community server owners can decide to wipe at their own discretion. This will start from July 2nd and run up until the update releases. Like the previous wipe, we'll be increasing the occurrence of helicopter crash-site events with high tier loot on all official servers in the days leading up to the wipe. We don’t have an exact date set in stone yet, but we’re hoping the update and wipe will occur around the middle of July.
That means we’ll be conducting complete wipes (all characters, items, vehicles, bases etc) on our official servers on release day. The majority of helicopter crash sites are located on the west side of the island. I only want black berets spawning at heli crash sites and I want the ability for 2-3 to spawn at a time. Obviously, the latter is the easier of the two. I have found 84 US Helicopter crashes and found 30 MI-8's. There are now two known methods to acquire an M4: kill a player wielding one or search helicopter crash sites. My helicopter succsess count is ( 25 in the Sosnovka area, 16 in Zelenegorsk, 21 in Pogarevka, 8 NWAF, 3 in Vyshnoye, 23 at Green Mountain, and 18 at the Vavilovo/ Lapitino area) You are more likely to find a US heli crash than a Russian MI-8. In addition to the the random crash sites, there were also three fixed helicopter crash sites. Green ghillie suits, cloaks, shrugs, hoods and rifle wraps. The Hacksaw is a type of equipment in DayZ Standalone. These include, but aren't limited to (because I'll have forgotten something). This may apply to the bleed over effect as well since military locations could have military loot in non military buildings. Keep in mind that these helicopters spawn in the same locations as the US Hueys (helicopters that are smoking). each helicrash gets a real AI-Controlled Heli which is flying and crashing at the (aprox) position. There are certain items that you will ONLY find at helicopter crash sites. NW military locations will have tier 4 items as well. Although, these helicopters don't spawn alot of loot, your likely to find high value loot items. The MI-8's spawn: SMERSH vests, AK-47's, AKS-74U's, PSO-1 scopes, PM-73RAK's + Mags, and a bunch of other sweet Russian military gear. Remember that MI-8 helicopters have no smoke, so keep your eyes peeled. Its risky to search there for heli crashes anyway because it is so high traffic. I rarely see heli crashes on the NW airfield, even though it has 8 possible spawn locations. Search these towns/citys and you are almost guaranteed to find one or two or maybe even three. Zelengorsk has 3, Pogarevka/ Pulovo has 6, and Vavillovo/ Laptino has 6.

In the Sosnovka/ Sonnovy Pass area is my favourite place to look because almost always a heli crash spawns there. Showing off all the Helicopter locations in the DayZ Expansion Mod to find these go to the place shown or check the quick map guide at the end of the video. I always find alot of heli crashes here is what information i gathered about them.
